Modern Aging Lunch Time Talk - "Smart Living and Design Thinking for Aging in Place"

The talk “Smart Living and Design Thinking for Aging in Place” will focus on the
strategy on aging in place in Taiwan. It will give an overview of the Smart Living
program and aging status. The program includes engaging activities letting
participants experience what it is like like to be in the shoes of seniors with physical
impairments. The speaker, associate Professor Thera Chiu, will explain the three
strategies of Taiwan: The use of a smartwatch as Assistive Device, a case study to
sustain service levels, and the use of design thinking. Join us to gain insight on how
researchers can use interdisciplinary methods to start creating age friendly
environments.
